Erin Fegan

Clinical Research Practitioner

I joined Oxford Cancer Trials in September 2023 as a Clinical Research Practitioner after finishing a Biomedical Science degree.

Working within research, specifically cancer research, has always been a long term goal of mine. During my time at University, I was given the opportunity to work at a mass COVID vaccination site for almost 2 years, which gave me the chance to experience working with patients first hand. I realised that this work brought me so much joy, to be able to meet different people everyday and see all the different walks of life that the patients came from. This is when I realised that I wanted to find a career where I could work within the research I had always wanted to be involved in but still have that patient interaction. From my job search within this kind of role I stumbled upon the Clinical Research Practitioner position being offered here at Churchill Hospital via the University of Oxford and I just knew it was the perfect job for me.

I am really looking forward to all that this new role has to offer for me and I can’t wait to be able to progress further within this position and within the research field. Although I have only been here a short time, I can already see how amazing the team is, how supportive they are and they have been so welcoming, it is an honour to work with every member.
